LW-OWC

Lightweight Well Cement Systems

Reduced-density well cement systems using extenders (microspheres, perlite, bentonite blends and similar) to limit hydrostatic pressure on weak formations while maintaining set integrity.

Application

Primary cementing across weak, fractured or lost-circulation-prone zones where standard Class G density (~1.90 sg slurry) exceeds fracture gradient. Typical slurry densities: ~1.38–1.68 sg depending on extender system. Full lab programme required for compressive strength and rheology.

Technical characteristics (quality certificate)

Typical values as stated on a mill quality certificate (passport) for a standard commercial grade. Actual lot values are confirmed in the COA / TDS for the selected manufacturer.

Product information

Chemical name
Lightweight oil-well cement slurry systems
Formula / class
LW-OWC
Appearance
Base cement powder plus lightweight extender (microspheres, perlite or blended additives) — supplied as system.
Packaging
Primarily 1.0 t MKR (FIBC) for base cement; 50 kg bags also available. Extenders in bags or bulk per type.

Lightweight design is not a single product — density, strength and thickening time must be validated for each well. Extender type affects stability and long-term integrity.
