PAC-LV
PAC LV — Polyanionic Cellulose, Low Viscosity
Low-viscosity polyanionic cellulose used to control fluid loss in water-based drilling fluids with limited impact on rheology.
Application
Water-based drilling fluids, including freshwater, seawater and selected brine systems. Typical use is API fluid-loss control in circulating muds where viscosity build must remain limited.
Technical characteristics (quality certificate)
Typical values as stated on a mill quality certificate (passport) for a standard commercial grade. Actual lot values are confirmed in the COA / TDS for the selected manufacturer.
API fluid loss (max)
Per functional class / grade
API RP 13B-2 / API 13A
Apparent viscosity (max)
≤ 40 mPa·s (LV grade)
API 13A / ISO 13500
Loss on drying
≤ 10%
API 13A / Manufacturer TDS
Degree of substitution
≥ 0.90 (typical API grade)
API 13A / OCMA
Reference profile for orientation. For each supply we confirm grade, origin and certificate data against your specification, well conditions and delivery requirements.
Typical functions
- API fluid-loss control
- Filtration cake quality
- Limited rheology contribution
- Compatible with common mud additives
Product information
- Chemical name
- Polyanionic Cellulose, Low Viscosity
- Formula / class
- PAC-LV
- Appearance
- Off-white to cream free-flowing powder. Exact colour and particle size depend on the manufacturer and grade.
