Na₂CO₃
Soda Ash — Sodium Carbonate Na₂CO₃
Alkalinity source and calcium precipitant used for treating water-based drilling fluids and makeup water.
Application
Treatment of hard makeup water, precipitation of soluble calcium, and pH / alkalinity adjustment in water-based muds. Also used in selected industrial processes outside drilling.
Technical characteristics (quality certificate)
Typical values as stated on a mill quality certificate (passport) for a standard commercial grade. Actual lot values are confirmed in the COA / TDS for the selected manufacturer.
