Xanthan Gum — Drilling Grade Biopolymer
High-efficiency biopolymer viscosifier providing low-shear-rate viscosity for hole cleaning in water-based drilling and workover fluids.
Application
Water-based drilling, drill-in, completion and workover fluids where LSRV and suspension are required. Oilfield grade should be specified separately from food grade.
Technical characteristics (quality certificate)
Typical values as stated on a mill quality certificate (passport) for a standard commercial grade. Actual lot values are confirmed in the COA / TDS for the selected manufacturer.

Oilfield xanthan grades differ in pyruvate content, mesh, dispersibility and thermal stability. Food-grade material is not automatically suitable for drilling fluids.
